Popular among contractors, these innovative fiber optic connectors come pre-loaded with a re-heatable adhesive which enables fiber repositioning in the termination process. 3M Hot Melt Connectors have a very long shelf life and virtually eliminate the need for epoxy. This line of connectors is fashioned mainly for installation in singlemode and multimode fiber data transport systems such as building and campus LAN backbones, factory and industrial control systems, traffic control systems, and enterprise networks. However, 3M Hot Melt Connectors are also fast and reliable for termination of multifiber distribution and breakout cables and can be used for termination and restoration of patch cords. Compatible even with the latest OM3 and OM4 fibers used for multi-gigabit transition, 3M Hot Melt Connectors are able to complete the termination process in two minutes or less and still produce high yield. All of 3M’s Hot Melt Connectors exceed TIA/EIA 568-C.3 environmental performance standards meaning that they provide reliable performance in a wide range of indoor and outdoor applications. The singlemode fiber optic connectors in particular are capable of reflection performance up to -55dB at temperature extremes.
