It is capable of discerning the layout of a "dark" or unpowered coax network, locating faults on individual cable runs and determining cable run length up to 1,500 ft. It is offered (depending on model) with up to 8 coax RF remotes for map runs through splitters. In addition to these functions, this coax cable tester can employ separate wire mapping sets (up to 12 depending on model) which allow a technician to map out up to 12 coax locations and measure quality and characterization of a network for a variety of carrying services such as high grade video, surveillance data, and HD programming.
