The precision-ground blade and special inserts hold buffer tube firmly in place in shaving channel. This ensures cutting of tube wall only and not fibers. An Alcatel study showed that some commonly available tools damaged over 97% of fibers in buffer tubes they were designed to access. Model 6652 caused virtually no fiber damage of any kind. The tool's planing action keeps the buffer tube gel contained, providing cleaner access. Features thick-gauge steel alloy construction and a hardshell case for years of continuous field use. Supports buffer tube sizes from 1.5 mm to 4.3 mm with six, 12 and 24 fibers per tube. Inserts support a wide variety of buffer tube diameters and fiber counts.
