Fluke Networks easy-to-use, competitively priced tester is three tools in one -- fault locator, cable/wire manager and tone generator. Results appear as a distance reading rather than a waveform, so the TS®90 is perfect for technicians unfamiliar with Time Domain Reflectometry (TDR) technology.
From just one end of any two or more conductor cable, it measures up to 2500 feet. Screen displays "LL" if cable is too long. Minimum non-zero reading is 2 feet. Instantly find distance to opens or shorts on electrical wire, telephone wire, security wire and coax. Find and fix cable problems without pulling new wire or blindly cutting into walls. Intermittent faults are easier to find because the unit measures constantly while on.
The TS90 is perfect for inventory management of cable stock in trucks and warehouses. It helps generate more accurate bids for jobs by quickly assessing needs and managing cable stock with greater accuracy. Patented SmartTone™ technology provides five distinct tones for exact wire and pair identification even in proximity to current-bearing cable. Tone injection is approximately 1 kHz at an amplitude of 80% battery voltage with variable frequency and cadence. Voltage detection sounds an alarm immediately if you accidentally clip onto an energized pair up to 250 V ac. High-voltage warning is triggered if ac voltage is greater than 5-15 V rms. Impedance range automatically compensates within 25-330 Ω.
