This special insulated tool kit is carefully designed with safety in mind for telco technicians who perform "hot" work. We created the SPC965 for installation and maintenance personnel who take their physical security as seriously as their work. So all of the top-quality tools and equipment supplied are specially chosen to shield you from hot work exposure. Cut through and work on live lines assured that insulated tools will keep you safely protected.
Cementex double-insulated safety tools for every application make this kit the choice for safeguarding both personnel and switches. It's designed for use in potentially hazardous electrical work environments. Impact-resistant, flame-retardant insulation provides protection against flashover shock, burns and dropped tool shorts. It prevents dangerous accidents and injury that can occur with regular tools. Always use insulated tools as a secondary source of protection.
Included safety tools are tested to 10,000 V ac, rated for 1000 V ac live-line use and marked with the international 1000-V symbol. They comply with IEC 900 standard for insulated hand tools and ASTM F-1505 standard for insulated hand-held tools. Cementex tools meet OSHA requirements in safe work place practice standards of 29CFR1910.269, 29CFR1910.333 (b) and 29CFR1910.335 (a) (2). Safety gloves are rated for use up to 500 V max.
Although the insulation on Cementex Tools is impact resistant and flame retardant, every tool should be inspected prior to each use for cracks, cuts or other apparent damage. If the yellow insulation is visible through the orange outer layer, the tool is no longer safe to use in hot work situations. By using two different colors on the coating, the user is able to tell easily if the coating is damaged and out of compliance. This extra layer of insulation provides an extra level of protection.
Supplied in a roto-rugged yellow tool case made of high-density polyethylene that is vertically ribbed for added strength. The three removeable pallets are specifically designed to organize insulated tools. Tool Case features a padded steel core handle, two keyed draw bolt latches, black painted aluminum frame, full piano hinge and combo lock.
This 45-pound kit is 17.25" x 14" x 8.5" (inside dimensions). Empty 082X429 yellow tool case also may be purchased separately. Tools carry lifetime warranties on mechanical parts with one-year guarantee on insulation. The case has a one-year warranty.
