Noyes VFI-2 Visual Fault Identifier is an easy-to-use troubleshooting instrument that locates and visibly identifies faults on fiber optic cables. The VFI-2 features a 650-nm visible red laser source that is designed for use with singlemode fiber. This handy visual fault identifier can locate defects in fiber optic jumper cables, distribution frames, splice strays, patch panels, cable splice points and tracing fiber runs. When a break or sharp bend exists in a fiber, the a red light from the device will illuminate the trouble spot.
The VFI-2 has an power output of 1-mW and makes use of CW and 2 Hz modulated output to locate faults within an ODTR's dead-zone. This device can also be used to perform end-to-end continuity checks as well as identifying connectors in patch panels during splicing operations.
Includes 2.5-mm universal interface for quick operation with many connector styles without changing adapter. Powered by two AA alkaline batteries for 60 hours of typical use. The 7.06-ounce VFI-2 is 5.5" x 2.4" x 1.3". One-year warranty.
