Cable Prep HCPT-6590 Combo RG6/59 Insertion Tool and Stripper

The Cable Prep® HCPT-6590 Cable Preparation Tool Kit is designed for RG-6, F-connector and RCA-connector applications. The RG6/59 YELLOW hybrid pocket compression insertion tool is used to attach all RCA, BNC, and F-type compression connectors on RG-6, 59, and mini-coax cables. It features connector ports molded into the tool for RCA, BNC and F-connectors, easy operation with either hand and plunger tips that are universal within a class of connectors. The handle clip keeps the handle secure during storage and conveniently folds out of the way during use.

The HPT-6590 insertion compression tool comes with the CPT-6590 single drop cable stripping tool with steel blades. It has a color-coded YELLOW tool body with one installed 304X520 RBC-6590 cartridge (no spare). Replacement Blade Cartridges Only are also available as optional items: 304X610 RBC-6590 BLACK (1 Ea.) and 304X520 RBC-6590 BLACK (10 Ea.)

HPT hybrid pocket tools attach all RCA, BNC, and F-type compression connectors used on RG6, RG59 and mini-coax cables. The plunger tips support all connector types within a class, with no need to recalibrate the plunger throw or change the tip. The compression throw distance is set at the factory, and a hex lock nut keeps the tool calibrated over long periods of use. Field recalibration, if necessary, is quick and easy. One tool attaches all RCA, BNC, and F-type compression connectors used on RG6, RG59 and mini-coax cables. Connector insertion ports molded into the tool for RG6 and RG59 sized connectors eliminate the need for and inconvenience of a separate insertion tool.

THE HPT ADVANTAGE:

  • One-handed cable insertion and removal.
  • Patented 360° connector support for uniform compression.
  • Lightweight body design with wrap-around comfort grip.
  • Convenient handle clip for storage.
  • Integrated connector insertion feature.

Each CPT tool is factory-calibrated to remove the right amount of cable jacket, cut the braid and dielectric to the proper length, and expose the center conductor in one smooth operation. The notched blade in the cartridge eliminates the risk of scoring the center conductor and cuts through the jacket, braid, foil and dielectric leaving the center conductor exposed. The shallow blade cuts through only the jacket of the cables. The CPT Series of cable stripping tools strip the jacket and cut back the braid and dielectric to the proper dimensions on braided and braid-replacement drop cables, including standard (single) through quad shielded RG-6, -59, -7, and -11 cables.

The CPT FEATURES:

  • Three operations in one step.
  • Hardened tool-steel blades.
  • Factory-calibrated strip-back dimensions.
  • Patented clean-out feature.
  • Replaceable cartridges.
  • Color-coded bodies and cartridges.

The CPT body is comfortable to hold and easy to operate with either hand. Because jacket, braid, and dielectric are cut with one simple motion, cables can be prepared quickly and easily. Made of the highest quality steel, CPT blades ensure optimum performance over a long life. Each cartridge can prepare 2,500 - 5,000 cables, depending on braid coverage. The patented cleanout feature of the CPT tool automatically removes excess jacket, braid, and dielectric from the tool after stripping. Rugged enough for the toughest jobs, lightweight CPT tools offer consistent, precision performance even under harsh conditions.

The cartridge must be replaced when the blades are dull. Depending on the cable you are using, the number of cuts per blade cartridge varies. For best performance the blade should be kept free of any debris or floodant residue. If you see that the cut is not as clean, the braid is straggled, or the tool takes more revolutions to cut - REPLACE THE CARTRIDGE IMMEDIATELY. While holding the tool, depress the lever and grasp the cartridge on both sides. Then pull cartridge straight down and out. Reverse this process for cartridge installation and then snap the cartridge in place. Move fingers away from cartridge and let go of lever.
