VIAVI OMK-36P Enterprise Plus SM/MM SmartPocket Optical Test Kit

The OMK-36P Enterprise SM/MM Testing Kit is comprised of portable, pocket-sized testing tools that are a practical solution for the installation and maintenance of fiber optic networks. It features an OLP-36 optical power meter and a dual wavelength OLS-36 optical light source that is dedicated to testing power level, insertion loss, and continuity. This kit in particular is geared to handle single mode, multimode, access, metro, LAN/WAN enterprise applications.

The OLP-36 power meter has a power range of -65 to +10 dBm with a max input power of 16 dBm and uses a UPP interface of 2.5 or 1.25 nm for connecting to fiber ends. The OLP-36 also has the ability to download results via micro-USB to the OFS-355 certification software.

The OLS-36 light source is meant to be used with single mode fiber types and has an output power of -20/-7 dBm with a wavelength uncertainty of +/- 20 nm and has interchangeable adapters for this particular kit.

When used in conjunction, these two devices can handle wavelengths of 850, 1300, 1310 and 1500 nm at a max fiber length of 12km, 25km, 150km, and 200km respectively at a dynamic range of 40/58 dB. This set of tools also sports the Auto-λ feature to automatically identify wavelengths as well as a TWINTest mode for the source to automatically toggle between two wavelengths. The devices have the benefit of long operating times of approximately 200 hours, a shock-resistant, splash proof design, and a 3-way powering ability.
