IDEAL 33-864 Tone Generator & Amplifier Probe/ Cable Tracing Kit
The IDEAL® 33-864 Tone and Probe Kit identifies wires and cables without damaging insulation. The tone generator applies a tone to a wire pair or single conductor in order to allow the user to identify a wire within a bundle, at the cross connection, or at a remote end. It is used in conjunction with an amplifier probe on twisted pair, coax CATV, or de-energized AC wiring.
The 33-864 cable tracing kit includes the 62-160 tone generator, 62-164 amplifier probe, flat tip, cable assemblies and nylon carrying case.
The IDEAL 62-160 tone generator offers three different selectable tones which can be added under any status, allowing monitorless test sets to pick up the tone. It also has a separate talk battery status for increased voltage and power, auto-off feature to conserve battery, two tone amplitude or normal and half, no power draw in continuity status, RJ jack with use of modular cable or alligator clips, low battery LED indicator, and constant amplitude over battery life.
The 62-164 amplifier / tone probe allows for almost flawless pin point identification even in the most congested cable bundles and works with the Ideal 62-160 or other tone generator. It has a volume control for increased sensitivity, low battery indicator and a recessed on/off button.
