Clearing a Blade Jam
Internal Realignment (If the Slider is Completely Stuck)
If the blade slider itself is jammed inside the handle, you may need to open the knife to reset the internal sled.
- Push to the Extreme: Push the thumb slider as far forward as possible, past the furthest cutting position, until it is completely at the end of the handle.
- Press and Pull: Hold the yellow/black blade-release button down. While pressing, firmly pull the old blade completely out.
- Check for Debris: Look into the blade slot to ensure there are no snapped blade fragments or built-up debris blocking the retraction mechanism.
- Reinsert the Blade: While holding the button, carefully slide the blade back in. Release the button and pull back on the slider to ensure the blade locks securely.
Internal Realignment (If the Slider is Completely Stuck)
If the blade slider itself is jammed inside the handle, you may need to open the knife to reset the internal sled.
- Unscrew the Casing: Locate the single screw on the side of the knife handle and unscrew it.
- Open the Handle: Carefully separate the two halves of the handle, making sure the internal components (the blade carriage, spring, and slider) do not pop out and scatter.
- Clear and Realign: Remove any dirt or jammed blade pieces. Reset the slider mechanism back to the rear position and ensure the release button's spring is correctly seated.
- Close the Knife: Place the cover back on and secure the screw.
