AFL S018613 Battery-Powered Precision Strip Tool, 125/900um
The AFL S018613 Precision Strip Tool removes 900-micron coating and insulation (Mylar, KAPTON, TEFLON, PVC and others) and strips the 250-micron buffer leaving the 125-micron bare glass fiber ready for clean, cleave and splice. With this battery-powered tool, stripping coated fiber without any damage takes only 5-8 seconds. An integral heating element is activated when handles are closed. It heats and softens material before stripping optical fiber quickly and easily. The heater oven accommodates up to 2" maximum strip length. This automated ergonomic stripper is designed for field installations, data center environments, fiber optic maintenance and splicing projects. It uses 2 AA batteries (alkaline or rechargeable Nickel Metal Hydride).
NOTE: Do not hold handles closed for longer than 20 seconds. Overheating can damage the tool. Do not touch the heater oven while in operation. Allow to cool before removal and cleaning.
